Design-Seeds

I'm currently participating in four swap groups on ravelry.com; one of which is a reoccurring dishcloth swap. The other three are somewhat seasonal swaps that require items such as skeins of yarn, knitting notions, patterns, and any other trinkets or fun items. Questions are often asked within the threads to swap pals, by group moderators or just in general.

A recent question from a malswap member was, "What's your favorite color?" Someone answered using a couple of color palette example photos from design-seeds.com. It soon became a posting trend to which, I too, found myself looking up inspirational color palettes. Instead of filling up the thread with my answer I decided to post my latest addiction here. And since I couldn't decide on just one favorite...well, you'll see...

I love soft grays and neutrals as they can blend well with other colors.

Jewel tones, either light or vibrant are a second favorite of mine. This palette in particular reminds me of my friend hohomuffin because she has an awesome dragon tattoo.

While I am not usually one for mauve/pinks, I do really like this palette with its subtle browns.

Red is also a color I favor. I used to wear the red/black/white combo a lot. The colors in this palette go well together. Plus, what's not to love about red velvet cupcakes?!

As a child I hated the color purple. Amethyst is my birthstone so I would usually receive purple gifts, gems, etc. But in the last few years I have come to like various shades of purple. I'm still not a fan of my birthstone though.

It's strange to me that these palettes do not hold much blue or blue/greens. Blue has always been my favorite color but maybe it's not so after all. I suppose when it comes down to it, mix anything with some grays and I will most likely love it.

What are your favorite colors? Do you find yourself choosing a lot of one particular color for your crafts?

Au revoir!
