My first GIVE-AWAY!

Since this is my favorite month, I've decided to try my hand at a contest via my blog. As some of you may know,  this particular season is a time when I reflect on the relationships in my life, love, and happiness. So what better way to share my love of well, LOVE?! This is also giving me a chance to share my passion for crafting and giving! The prize will be a heart felt package inspired by St. Valentine's Day.

It will include:

One hand sewn by me small drawstring bag. Perfect for knitting projects or to use as a cute beach day bag. Really, anything you'd like! Your color choice.

Samples of my favorite LUSH bath bombs; fragrance of your choice.

One Bath & Body Works Pocketbac hand gel with holder; choose from their limited edition I love Pocketbac bundle.

 Your favorite edible Valentine's candies

A charitable donation from me to Farm Aid, an organization that works to increase awareness of the importance of family farms and to help keep them on their land. This is a new charity for me as I typically donate to EarthShare, Warming Up America and Feeding America. I am choosing this particular organization for their stance on giving our local farmers a fighting chance.

To enter, simply refer a couple of your friends to follow my blog, post a comment to this post with listing their names along with your info (name, blog/site). ♥ Also, answer a few fun questions: What is your favorite time of year? Do you celebrate St. Valentine's Day? If so, how? Lastly, do you donate to any charities? I'd love to hear about them!

You may enter anytime starting today, February 4, 2011! One winner will be chosen by an online random number generator on the evening of February 20, 2011.

I'd love feedback on this contest/give-away too. Any and all is greatly appreciated.

as always,
with peace, love, unity, and respect,

  1. Okay - I had saved this post to come back to it, so here I am!

I suggest Tina (www.rowsred.net) and Chan (chanknits.wordpress.com.) Both have wonderful blogs and update often!

As for as who to suggest you blog to, how about I give a shout-out on my blog, and post about your contest? That way, more than one person is sure to see it!

My favorite type of year is Autumn, right when summer is giving up to cooler weather and the night's require a light sweater. No, I don't really do a lot for Valentine's Day; just cook a nice dinner and have a nice bottle of wine. My favorite charities are Doctors Without Borders and Heifer International.

    Cheers!

  3. Look at that darling Amy. She's the living best...

I suggest gMarie of gmariesews.blogspot.com. She sews, knits, has sweet dogs and the kindest heart. I also suggest Kathy of gypsyknits.blogstpot.com. She does it all, and spins too. She's another super-supportive gal-pal, and when life keeps handing her lemons, she just makes more lemondade to share with her friends.

My favorite season is generally whichever one just started or at this point, is right around the corner. So today, let spring SPRUNG already!

I do celebrate Valentines Day, but rather sporadically. This year, the dog's vets are the big recipients.

Charities. Well, we give to Boys & Girls Club, Habitat Women Build and a handful of dog-related ones too. My husband is a volunteer fire chief and I'm president elect-elect of the local Junior League, just to name a couple of places we donate our time and talents too.

  5. I have a hard time picking a favorite time of year, but I would have to say it is latesummer/fall - I love the beach and I love the changing leaves. Valentine's Day was almost as big as Christmas when I was growing up with presents, cake, flowers and many decorations - I had no idea that not everyone celebrated like that - my parents became engaged on Valentine's Day and my Mom did it up BIG. She passed away 3 years ago (they were married for 50 years) and it is a bittersweet holiday for me now - we still celebrate and try to keep her joy of it alive, but we do miss her terribly especially on this day.

I do donate to charities, always the Cancer Society as it has been the cause of death of most every family member that we have lost and I am now having a bit of a battle with it myself. I also donate to our local Police as they do such a great job!

A blog friend of mine that I can recommend is Amanda Cathleen http://amandacathleen.wordpress.com/ she is a wonderful person and a fabulous crafter :)

  6. Hey there! I recommended your blog to my sis, Megan! She said she just became a "follower", yay!! :) And to answer your questions...

Well, my favorite time of year is Fall...I just love the weather, how you can open up your windows and not use Heat/AC, the leaves changing color, etc.

I do celebrate Valentine's Day, some years more extravagantly than others. This year, we kept it a little low key, being on a budget and with my upcoming move and all. But in past years, I mean we typically go out to dinner, one year we did a couples massage...fun stuff like that. We exchange cards and write thoughtful messages inside. <3

At the moment, I am not donating to any charities...but that will change soon (now that I will have stable/constant income). In the past, I have donated to the Women's Center (that was near my grad. school) and I also used to donate monthly to a children's charity (the name isn't coming to mind). But again, I hope to start donating more soon! :)

    XOXO
